Panavision Executives to Launch The Los Angeles Film
School's Cinematography Lab

The Los Angeles Film School is
dedicating their new cinematography lab to Panavision. The
Panavision Cinematography Lab features a built-in lighting
grid, a 24 channel dimming system, and a seamless epoxy
self-leveling floor ideally suited for dolly use, and blackout
curtains. The camera and lens company, who are always supportive
of film and cinematography students, is lending support
by loaning a legendary 35mm camera package to The Los Angeles
Film School as well as augmenting the cinematography program
with special instruction from Panavision personnel.
"We are enormously pleased to have Panavision support
our school and our students," said Film School President
Carolyn Pfeiffer. "The Panavision Cinematography
Lab is a dedicated space for students to learn how to
effectively shoot 35mm film under professional conditions."
On hand at the dedication of the cinematography lab was
Bob Harvey, Vice President of Sales at Panavision, Kelly
Simpson, head of Panavision's New Filmmaker Program, Academy
Award winning cinematographer, Janusz Kaminski, a member
of the school's Advisory Board, Academy Award nominated
Ralf Bode, a member of the schools cinematography faculty,
Film School Dean Amedeo D'Adamo, Founder Thom Mount, and
Film School President Carolyn Pfeiffer. Bob Harvey stated,
"Panavision recognizes how important it is to seed
our industry with new talent and is thrilled to be part
of this wonderful new facility."Panavision has donated
a significant scholarship to The Los Angeles Film School
Foundation and has agreed to train students on Panavision
cameras. Five students with a concentration in cinematography,
to be named in the near future, will be beneficiaries
of the Panavision scholarships.
