Inaugural Graduation of the September 1999
Class
On June 23, 2000, the graduation began with
an opening greeting by the schools President Carolyn
Pfeiffer. She spoke of beginnings: the beginning of the
film school, the beginning of the first class, and the
beginning of their careers in filmmaking. Following Pfeiffers
opening greetings, Thom Mount, Founder of The Los Angeles
Film School, introduced the keynote speaker of the evening,
Lorenzo Di Bonaventura. President of Warner Bros. Theatrical,
Di Bonaventura addressed the students on working in the
studio system.

Following the commencement address, Amedeo DAdamo,
the Dean of The Los Angeles Film School, closed the event
by personally addressing each one of the sixteen graduates.
After addressing each student, diplomas were handed out
to each graduate. Each student addressed the audience
and the consensus seemed to be that although the ten months
had been difficult, they learned more about filmmaking
than they ever thought they would.
