Fox Digital conducts HD test at LAfilm
The test was a comparison of HD (high definition) cameras with 35mm film. A scene from "The Day The Earth Stood Still" was shot on the school's soundstage, using a Panasonic/JVC/Phillips 720p HD prototype camera and the school's Sony HD900 camera. The scene was also shot on 35mm film. Rex Metz was Director of Photography, and the entire September cinematography class assisted as crew. The finished test comparison was shown at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) 2001 Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada 4/21 - 4/26, and will be screened in the LAFS theater at a later date.
